IL HB1570

Requires each school board to establish an alternative basic education track focused on mathematics and reading for students performing one grade level or more below their current grade level.

Applies to students identified as underperforming according to current learning standards and school district assessments.

Directs the State Board of Education to adopt standards for the alternative basic education track through rulemaking.

Applies to both regular school districts (105 ILCS 5/10-20.53) and unit school districts (105 ILCS 5/34-18.45).

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
