HB1982 Summary

• Deletes language that made individuals unavailable for work on days that are holidays according to the custom of their trade or occupation.

• Makes individuals ineligible for unemployment benefits based on wages for instructional, research, or principal administrative services at educational institutions during periods between successive academic years or terms if they performed those services before and will perform them after the break.

• Makes individuals ineligible for benefits during established vacation periods or holiday recesses at educational institutions if they performed services immediately before and will perform them immediately after the recess.

• Extends ineligibility provisions to employees of educational service agencies (governmental entities providing services to educational institutions) for periods between academic years/terms and during vacation/holiday recesses.
