IL HB2102

Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act Section 609 regarding child removal from Illinois.

Requires courts to consider the economic cost to the noncustodial parent when determining whether to permit removal of a child outside Illinois, including costs to visit the child or relocate.

Maintains that the burden of proving removal is in the child's best interests remains on the party seeking removal.

Prohibits courts from using availability of electronic communication as a factor supporting child removal from Illinois.
