Amends the Volunteer Emergency Worker Job Protection Act to prohibit public and private employers from taking disciplinary action against employees who are absent or late to respond to emergencies while acting as volunteer emergency workers.

Allows employers to charge time lost from employment due to emergency response against an employee's regular pay.

Requires employers to request written verification from the volunteer fire department or governmental entity supervisor confirming the employee responded to an emergency, including the time and date.

Requires volunteer emergency workers to make reasonable efforts to notify their employer that they may be absent or late due to emergency response.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
