IL HB2848

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code to allow municipalities that own or operate public utilities to collect delinquent utility charges as a special assessment if charges are more than 90 days past due.

Permits municipalities to collect costs associated with removal of nuisance greenery as a special assessment using the same procedures as provided in Article 9 for local improvements.

Delinquent utility charges and nuisance greenery removal costs are to be collected through the special assessment process established for local improvements.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
