Requires notarized declarations of intent for write-in candidates to include a sworn statement affirming the person is eligible to hold the office being sought at the time of filing.

Allows objections to be filed on declarations of intent submitted no later than 61 days prior to the election.

Maintains existing deadlines for filing declarations: 61 days before the election for standard write-in candidates, or 7 days before the election if filed after a nominated candidate's nominating papers are successfully challenged.

Maintains existing restrictions preventing candidates defeated at primary elections or party caucuses from filing as write-in candidates in the same general or consolidated election.

Becomes effective immediately upon enactment.
