IL HB2884

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections to change the maximum time interval for parole rehearing after denial from 3 years to 5 years.

Allows the Prisoner Review Board to schedule a rehearing no later than 5 years from the date of parole denial if the Board finds it is not reasonable to expect parole would be granted at an earlier hearing.

Maintains the requirement that the Board must provide for rehearing not less frequently than once every year, except when invoking the extended 5-year rehearing provision.
