IL HB2973

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections to add a new factor for imposing extended term sentences when a defendant is convicted of a felony while hooded, robed, or masked to conceal their identity.

New factor is added as subsection (c)(8) to Section 5-5-3.2, allowing courts to consider identity concealment as grounds for extended sentencing.

Applies to any felony conviction where the defendant wore disguising attire during the commission of the offense.

Joins existing aggravating factors used to justify extended term sentences under Illinois sentencing guidelines.
