IL HB3106

Amends the Counties Code to update census reference from the 2000 decennial census to "the most recent federal" decennial census for determining county board size limits.

Counties with populations between 800,000 and 3,000,000 shall have no more than 18 members on their county board, effective for members elected at the 2002 general election and thereafter.

County board chairmen elected at-large are not counted toward the 18-member limitation on county board size.

Prohibits county board members and chairmen from simultaneously serving as commissioners or presidents of forest preserve district boards, and prevents candidates from seeking election to both positions in the same election.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
