IL HB3170

Requires inspectors to notify quarries 24 hours before performing an aggregate scale inspection.

Allows aggregate scale operators 7 days to calibrate scales that are 1% of test weight or less outside tolerance levels before ceasing operations.

For first or second violations, inspectors must use normal tolerances when retesting scales that exceed tolerance levels.

If a scale exceeds tolerances 3 or more times in a 24-month period, the scale must meet one-half the normal tolerances to be recertified.

Effective immediately upon becoming law.
