IL HB3832

Amends the Chicago Municipal and Chicago Laborers pension Articles (40 ILCS 5/8-226 and 11-215) to expand creditable service for unpaid leaves of absence.

Allows employees on leave without pay to earn pension credit while employed full-time by a local labor organization representing municipal employees, provided they continue making employee and employer contributions to the pension fund.

Specifies that participants cannot receive pension credit in any pension plan established by the labor organization (including local, national, or international labor organization plans) based on their employment with the organization.

Requires participants to make contributions based on their regular municipal employment salary immediately prior to the leave and their current labor organization salary after the effective date of the 1991 amendatory act.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
