HB3925 Summary

• Amends the Child Vision and Hearing Test Act to limit vision and hearing screening services for preschool children ages 3 and older to once every 2 years prior to entering kindergarten.

• Authorizes physicians licensed to practice medicine, optometrists licensed under the Illinois Optometric Practice Act of 1987, or certified vision screening technicians to conduct and administer vision screening services.

• Authorizes physicians licensed to practice medicine, audiologists licensed under the Illinois Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act, or certified hearing screening technicians to conduct and administer hearing screening services.

• Maintains requirement that screening services be administered to all children no later than their first year in any public or private education program, licensed day care center, or residential facility for handicapped children.
