HB 4010 Amendment Summary

• Establishes annual salary schedule for regional superintendents of schools based on region population: $73,500 (under 48,000), $78,000 (48,000-99,999), $81,500 (100,000-999,999), and $83,500 (1,000,000+)

• Implements annual salary adjustments beginning July 1, 2000 based on Consumer Price Index increases, capped at 2.9% maximum per year with no decreases applied

• Sets assistant regional superintendent compensation as percentages of regional superintendent salary: 70% (state teaching certificate), 75% (bachelor's degree), and 90% (master's degree), with limit of one assistant paid at 90% rate per region

• Removes authority for county boards to provide additional compensation to regional and assistant regional superintendents

• Prohibits salary enhancements for regional superintendents or assistant superintendents based on grant program administration

• Directs state payment of salaries from Personal Property Tax Replacement Fund for fiscal year 2012 and from Common School Fund for fiscal year 2013 and beyond
