Increases minimum sentence for unlawful possession of weapons by felons from 2 years to 5 years for first offense (Class 3 felony) and from 3 years to 7 years for second or subsequent offense (Class 2 felony).

Increases minimum sentence for certain felons (with prior forcible felony, Article 24 violation, stalking, or drug convictions) from 3 years to 7 years for unlawful weapon possession (Class 2 felony).

Increases minimum sentence for unlawful weapon possession while on parole or mandatory supervised release from 3 years to 7 years (Class 2 felony).

Increases minimum sentence for second or subsequent aggravated unlawful use of a weapon from 3 years to 7 years and maximum from 7 years to 14 years (Class 2 felony).

Increases minimum sentence for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by previously convicted felons from 3 years to 7 years and maximum from 7 years to 14 years (Class 2 felony).
