• Creates a new Class 3 felony offense for knowingly making or causing false statements to be made with the intent they be relied upon in issuing or enforcing orders of protection or civil no contact orders.

• Requires courts to vacate orders of protection or civil no contact orders if the person who obtained them is convicted of making false statements and the court materially relied on those false statements when issuing the order.

• Mandates expungement of all records relating to petitions for vacated orders when a conviction for false statements is obtained and material reliance is shown.

• Allows courts to modify (rather than vacate) orders if false statements made to obtain them were not material to the court's issuance of the order.
