IL HB4514

Amends the Counties Code Section 3-5010 regarding recorder duties for storing written instruments and documents.

Allows recorders in counties with less than 500,000 inhabitants to use electronic methods of storage in addition to microfilm or other film reproduction, without requiring county board authorization.

Requires that film or electronic storage methods comply with minimum quality standards approved by the State Records Commission and accurately reproduce the contents of original documents.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
