• Amends the Freedom of Information Act to allow public bodies to redact exempt information from public records while making non-exempt information available for inspection and copying.

• Adds a new exemption (d-5) for law enforcement records created by another agency and stored in a shared electronic record management system, if the receiving agency did not create the record or participate in the events documented.

• Renumbers existing exemptions (dd), (ee) to (ee), (ff) respectively, maintaining protections for personal information of minors and participants in park district and recreation agency programs.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
