IL HB4610

Repeals Section 12-38 of the Criminal Code of 1961, which previously regulated the sale of caustic substances covered by Title 16 CFR Section 1500.129 of the Federal Caustic Poison Act.

Eliminates the requirement for purchasers of regulated caustic substances to provide valid government-issued identification with name, date of birth, and photograph before purchase.

Removes the requirement for sellers to maintain a log documenting the purchaser's name and address, date and time of transaction, and product details (brand, name, and net weight).

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
