• Expands existing aggravating factors related to offenses in schools, day care centers, nursing homes, and on public transportation to provide more detailed definitions and circumstances.

• Establishes specific extended-term sentencing considerations for crimes such as reckless homicide, driving under the influence at excessive speeds, sexual assault crimes, organized gang activity, and weapons violations.

• Allows extended-term sentences for sexual assault crimes against minors under 18 when the victim was under the influence of alcohol during the offense and the offender knew or should have known of the victim's intoxication.
