Secretary of State may adopt rules to establish informational restrictions on driver's licenses regarding specific conditions of the licensee.

Drivers under 18 years old have curfew restrictions on their licenses, with specified nighttime driving hours when the license is invalid (11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday-Saturday, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday-Sunday, and 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday-Thursday).

Eight exceptions allow drivers under 18 to drive during curfew hours, including when accompanied by a parent/guardian, on parental errands, during interstate travel, going to/from work or school activities, in emergencies, or exercising First Amendment rights.

Seventeen-year-old licensed drivers with at least 12 months of experience are exempt from curfew restrictions while serving as assigned drivers in Safe Rides programs sponsored by national public service organizations with liability insurance.

Drivers under 21 must have their license display dates when they turn 18 and 21 years of age, and their licenses must be visually distinct from those issued to drivers 21 and older.
