HB4701 Summary

• Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act to add personnel of institutions of higher education to the list of mandated reporters who must report suspected child abuse or neglect to the Department.

• Adds athletic program personnel to the list of mandated reporters required to immediately report reasonable cause to believe a child is abused or neglected.

• Adds early intervention providers, as defined in the Early Intervention Services System Act, to the list of mandated reporters under the Act.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
