Gasoline and service stations offering both self-service and full-service islands must dispense fuel for drivers with disabilities displaying qualifying registration plates or decals upon request, at self-service prices.

By January 1, 2014, stations must provide at least one ADA-compliant fuel dispenser with a direct telephone number to the station, or display a telephone number on at least one dispenser allowing disabled drivers to request refueling assistance.

Stations are not required to provide refueling assistance when operating remotely with a single employee on duty, but are encouraged to do so if feasible.

Refueling assistance must be provided at no charge beyond the self-serve price, and stations cannot charge additional fees for assistance services.

Illinois Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Weights and Measures shall enforce the Act with authority to levy $250 administrative fines on violating station owners, with collected funds deposited into the Motor Fuel and Petroleum Standards Fund.
