Amends Section 34-1 of the School Code (105 ILCS 5/34-1) concerning the Chicago School District Article.

Makes a technical grammatical change by removing a duplicated word "the" in the definition of "Trustees" in the section.

Applies only to cities with a population exceeding 500,000.

Defines "Trustees" as the Chicago School Reform Board of Trustees created by the 1995 amendatory act, serving as the governing board from appointment through June 30, 1999 or until appointment of a new Chicago Board of Education, whichever is later.

Specifies that "Board" or "board of education" refers to the Chicago School Reform Board of Trustees during its tenure, then the new Chicago Board of Education from June 30, 1999 forward.
