Amends Illinois Insurance Code Section 356w to expand insulin coverage requirements for group accident and health insurance policies.

Changes coverage requirement from "insulin" to "all commercially available insulin preparations, including insulin analog preparations available in a vial or cartridge" when medically necessary and prescribed by a physician.

Applies to group policies amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the effective date of the 1998 amendatory act, covering type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes mellitus.

Insulin coverage is subject to the same deductible, co-payment, and co-insurance provisions as other drug benefits under the policy.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
