Amends the Illinois Police Training Act to require probationary police officer curriculum to include recognition of elder abuse and neglect as defined in the Elder Abuse and Neglect Act and crimes against the elderly.

Adds training requirement for police officers in identifying and interacting with persons with autism and other developmental disabilities, including methods to reduce barriers to reporting crimes and addressing unique challenges in cases involving victims or witnesses with autism.

Maintains existing curriculum requirements for probationary officers including arrest, search and seizure, civil rights, human relations, cultural diversity, firearms training, first aid with CPR, juvenile offender handling, domestic violence response, and sexual assault investigation.

Preserves training standards for permanent police officers, county corrections officers, and court security officers, with certification requirements and waiver provisions for existing personnel.

Takes effect January 1, 2013.
