Increases the maximum number of physician assistants a supervising physician may supervise from 2 to 5 full-time equivalents, with the maximum reduced by the number of collaborative agreements the physician maintains.

Allows physician assistants to practice in hospitals, hospital affiliates, and ambulatory surgical treatment centers under clinical privileges granted by the medical staff, without requiring a written supervision agreement with an individual physician.

Establishes that physician assistants granted clinical privileges in hospitals or ambulatory surgical treatment centers may order, select, and administer medications including controlled substances, and are not required to obtain a mid-level controlled substance license for this purpose.

Requires hospitals and ambulatory surgical treatment centers to adopt policies ensuring adequate supervision of physician assistants in accordance with the Medical Practice Act and Physician Assistant Practice Act.

Removes language restricting employment of physician assistants in certain state facilities and clarifies provisions regarding supervision requirements in emergency situations.
