Amends Illinois School Code Section 27-17 to expand cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) instruction requirements in schools.

Requires students in grades 6 through 8 to receive CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training through watching an instructional video on those subjects.

Maintains existing requirement for grades 9 through 11 students to receive CPR instruction as part of safety education curriculum.

Safety education instruction must total at least 16 hours per school year and can be integrated into regular courses of study.

Effective upon becoming law.
