Requires fire chiefs of municipal fire departments and fire protection districts to receive 7 days' notice prior to temporary closure of any railroad crossing for reconstruction, alteration, relocation, maintenance, or improvement work.

Notice requirement applies to crossings within the jurisdiction of the respective municipal fire department or fire protection district.

Adds new subsection (9) to Section 18c-7401 of the Illinois Vehicle Code establishing the fire chief notification requirement.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
