IL HB5240

Amends Section 24-1 of the Criminal Code of 1961 concerning unlawful use of weapons by making a technical change to the language in subsection (a).

Changes "the the offense" to "the offense" in the opening language of subsection (a) to correct a grammatical error.

Maintains all existing prohibitions and criminal penalties related to weapons violations, including restrictions on bludgeons, switchblades, firearms, explosives, and other dangerous weapons.

Preserves all existing exemptions and exceptions for law enforcement, security officers, and licensed firearm owners.
