Amends Section 16-118 of the Illinois Pension Code regarding Downstate Teachers retirement provisions.

Allows annuitants receiving a retirement annuity (other than disability retirement annuity) to accept employment as a teacher without impairing their retirement status.

Increases the employment limit from 100 paid days or 500 paid hours to 120 paid days or 600 paid hours in a school year.

Excludes annuitants participating in the program established under Section 16-150.1 from these employment limits.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
