IL HB5266

Amends the Elder Abuse and Neglect Act to establish who may access confidential records concerning reports of elder abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, or self-neglect

Adds new provision (2.5) allowing law enforcement agencies, fire departments, or fire protection districts with written agreements to receive lists of eligible adults at imminent risk of elder abuse or neglect

Adds new provision (8.5) allowing coroners or medical examiners with written agreements to receive lists of eligible adults at imminent risk of death from abuse or neglect

Protects the identity of persons making reports of elder abuse, which remains confidential and inaccessible to those granted record access

Maintains existing access provisions for Department staff, law enforcement, physicians, courts, guardians ad litem, grand juries, and other specified parties investigating or addressing elder abuse cases
