Sanitary district boards may enter into agreements to sell or disburse treated wastewater to public or private entities within or outside district boundaries, subject to Pollution Control Board orders.

Treated wastewater agreements may not exceed 20 years in duration.

Sanitary districts retain existing powers to construct and maintain sewage disposal systems, treatment plants, channels, drains, and pumping stations to preserve water quality and protect public health.

Sanitary districts may collect connection charges from new or additional system users to cover construction, expansion, and extension costs of sewage works, with funds used for general corporate purposes and system expansion.

The Act takes effect upon becoming law.
