Secretary of State shall cancel the license or permit of any person under 18 years old convicted of violating Section 12-610.2 (prohibiting use of electronic communication devices while driving).

After cancellation, Secretary of State may not issue a new license or permit for 6 months after the cancellation date or until the minor turns 18 years old, whichever is longer.

Adds new subsection (i) to Section 6-107 making minors under 18 ineligible for a graduated driver's license if they commit a violation of Section 12-610.2.

For graduated license holders over 18 who violated Section 12-610.2 within 6 months before their 18th birthday, restrictions continue until 6 consecutive months pass without an additional violation.
