HB5345 Summary

• Amends Section 5B-2 of the Illinois Public Aid Code regarding assessments on long-term care providers.

• Assessment of $6.07 per occupied bed day, due monthly beginning July 1, 2011, is imposed on long-term care providers.

• Assessment shall not be due and payable until after the Department of Healthcare and Family Services reimburses a long-term care provider for services rendered for the month of the required assessment.

• Assessment cannot be billed or passed on to nursing home residents and local governments are prohibited from imposing additional taxes or assessments on long-term care providers.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
