HB5375 Summary

• Removes the requirement that regional superintendent of schools candidates must have been engaged for at least 2 of the previous 4 years in full-time teaching, supervising in public schools, or serving as a county or regional superintendent.

• Retains all other eligibility requirements for regional superintendent candidates, including a master's degree, 20 semester hours of graduate professional education credit, valid supervisory or administrative certificate, and at least 4 years of teaching experience.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
