IL HB5385

Amends the Public Community College Act to modify student trustee representation in multi-campus community college districts.

Requires one non-voting student member from each campus in multi-campus districts to represent their respective campus (instead of one student member representing all campuses).

Removes the previous lottery selection system that rotated which campus had a student representative each year.

Maintains that student members are selected through campus-wide student referendum and serve one-year terms beginning April 15.

Preserves non-voting student members' privileges including rights to make motions, second motions, and attend executive sessions, except voting rights.
