Authorizes the Attorney General or State's Attorney to bring legal actions against violations of Fire Investigation Act rules and regulations.

Changes enforcement authority from mandatory inspection/examination to authorization for State Fire Marshal and local fire investigation officers to enter buildings and premises for examination when just cause exists.

Requires the State Fire Marshal or local officers to order removal or remediation of dangerous conditions, code violations, or fire hazards found during inspections.

Establishes procedures for immediate vacating of structures posing imminent threats to public safety or health, with mandatory posting of notice and prohibition on entry except for repairs until Office approval is obtained.

Requires decisions by the State Fire Marshal to vacate buildings cannot be stayed during appeal, and appeals of fire safety orders must be conducted under the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act.
