IL HB5515

Amends the Election Code to change notification timing for vacancies in county and forest preserve district offices from within 3 days of the vacancy occurrence to within 3 days of the county board meeting where the vacancy was declared.

Extends the 60-day deadline for filling vacancies to begin from the date of notification rather than the date of the vacancy for forest preserve district commissioner and president positions.

Removes the population restriction allowing county board members to concurrently hold education office positions, changing from "counties having fewer than 40,000 inhabitants" to "any county."

Allows county board members to hold concurrent office as members of the board of education, regional board of school trustees, board of school directors, board of a community college district, or board of school inspectors during their term.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
