Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 and the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986 to automatically extend plenary orders of protection for an additional 2-year period upon court determination that the respondent violated the order.

Extension is automatic upon a preponderance of the evidence finding that the respondent violated the order, without requiring a separate motion or hearing for extension.

Applies to all plenary orders of protection issued under both criminal procedure and domestic violence statutes, regardless of the original expiration date or circumstances of the order.

Does not affect the duration rules for emergency orders (14-21 days) or interim orders (up to 30 days), which remain unchanged.

Preserves existing provisions regarding law enforcement record-keeping, computation of time, and the statement of purpose discouraging dismissal of prosecutions in exchange for orders of protection.
