IL HB5691

Amends the Child Care Act of 1969 by making a technical change to Section 4 regarding licensing requirements for child care facilities.

Changes "Any" to "Any" in subsection (a) concerning persons, groups, or corporations that must apply for a license to operate child care facilities.

Requires child welfare agencies providing adoption services to be licensed by the Department and must be officially recognized as tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations under federal tax law.

Grants existing child welfare agencies providing adoption services a 24-month grace period from the effective date to obtain 501(c)(3) status, with potential one-year extension if application has been filed.

Requires the Department to notify the public through local newspaper when licensed child care institutions, maternity centers, or group homes change their range of services, age/type of children served, or facility areas used by children.
