HB5699 - Aging Community State Employment Plan Act

• Creates the Aging Community State Employment Plan Act defining the aging community as persons 50 years of age or older.

• Requires the Department of Central Management Services to develop and implement plans to increase aging community employment in state government, including supervisory, technical, professional, and managerial positions.

• Establishes an 11-member Aging Community State Employment Plan Advisory Council appointed by the Governor to examine employment barriers, prevalence of aging community employment, and promotional incentives.

• Mandates each state agency implement the Plan, report annually on aging community hiring and promotion activities, and receive Department assistance with training programs.

• Requires the Department to report to the General Assembly by February 1 of each year beginning February 1, 2013 on state agency implementation activities.
