• Amends the Illinois Election Code (10 ILCS 5/9-8.10) to prohibit political committees from using funds for legal defense of public officials or candidates in connection with specified criminal offenses.

• Prohibits legal defense funding for offenses involving fraud against a public entity, bribery of public officers or employees, official misconduct, inducement of misconduct, infamous crimes under state or federal law, or any offense reflecting on the official's character, honesty, integrity, or ability to hold public office.

• Removes obsolete reference to "other reporting organization" from the statute title.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
