IL HB5841

Amends the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Act to require water service pricing that reflects the actual cost of service for the requesting city, village, or municipality.

Caps water charges at no greater than what the supplying city, village, or incorporated town charges its own consumers for similar quantities of water.

Allows higher water rates for municipalities requesting improved water service facilities located outside corporate limits and within 35 miles, provided rates are negotiated or determined by Cook County Circuit Court.

Preserves the right of municipal corporations to obtain water at corporate limits at the existing metered rate for comparable consumers within the supplying municipality's limits.

Requires applicant municipalities to build and maintain water mains to connect with the supplying city's water system.
