• Permits residential services providers contracting with the Department of Children and Family Services or Department of Human Services to conduct a 60-day evaluation and assessment for children ages 5-22 with developmental or intellectual disabilities to facilitate transition to community-based group homes.

• Requires the 60-day evaluation and assessment period to begin upon admission and be conducted at a campus-based residential program to assess the child's functioning and overall performance.

• Allows completion of specified disciplines during the evaluation period including education support, speech/language therapy, occupational and physical therapy, behavioral health services, medical and health services, and residential services.

• Extends similar provisions to residential facilities accepting students ages 5-22 with developmental or intellectual disabilities for services paid by Illinois public State agencies under the School Code.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
