• Creates a "short form notification" option as an alternative to full personal service of stalking no contact orders, civil no contact orders, and domestic violence protection orders.

• Allows sheriffs, law enforcement officials, special process servers, and Department of Corrections personnel to serve respondents with a simplified notification form containing respondent name, date of birth, petitioner name, protected parties, filing date and county, court file number, hearing date, and applicable conditions.

• Short form notification must include a bold notice stating the order is enforceable, directing respondent to obtain a full copy from the sheriff or circuit court, and warning of arrest for violations.

• Permits law enforcement to detain a respondent for a reasonable time to complete and serve the short form notification upon verification of identity and an unserved order.

• Directs the Attorney General to make a unified short form notification template available to all law enforcement agencies that can be used for all three types of protective orders.
