IL HB6180

Amends the Workers' Compensation Act Section 8.1b regarding permanent partial disability determinations for accidental injuries occurring on or after September 1, 2011.

Requires physicians preparing disability impairment reports to include objective measurements such as loss of range of motion, loss of strength, measured tissue atrophy, and reference the most current American Medical Association "Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment."

Directs the Commission to base permanent partial disability determinations on five factors: reported impairment level, employee's occupation, age at time of injury, future earning capacity, and objective findings in medical records.

Removes the provision stating "no single enumerated factor shall be the sole determinant of disability."

Requires the Commission to explain in a written order the relevance and weight of any factors used in addition to the physician's reported impairment level.
