HB6183 Summary

• Amends the Workers' Compensation Act to modify how permanent partial disability is determined for carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome injuries occurring after December 31, 2012.

• For injuries involving carpal tunnel or cubital tunnel syndrome due to repetitive or cumulative trauma where the employee can return to work without restrictions, permanent partial disability shall be determined by the impairment level as assessed by a physician licensed to practice medicine.

• Maintains existing limitations on carpal tunnel awards (15% loss of use of hand maximum, or 30% with clear and convincing evidence) for injuries occurring between June 28, 2011 and December 31, 2012.
