IL HB6195

Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 to establish tiered penalties for official misconduct based on the value of personal advantage obtained.

Creates a Class 2 felony for violations of Section 33-3(a)(3) when the personal advantage obtained does not exceed $10,000.

Establishes a Class 1 felony when the personal advantage obtained exceeds $10,000 but does not exceed $100,000.

Establishes a Class X felony when the personal advantage obtained exceeds $100,000.

Maintains existing Class 3 felony penalties for other misconduct violations including intentional or reckless failure to perform mandatory duties, knowingly performing forbidden acts, and soliciting unauthorized fees or rewards.
