Illinois Department of Transportation directed to study the feasibility of leasing naming rights for oases operated by the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority as an alternative revenue source.

Study must assess the potential for naming rights leasing, appropriate procedures for the activity, and any necessary legislation to implement the program.

Department must report findings to the 97th General Assembly no later than one year after adoption of this resolution.

Resolution cites Federal Highway Administration identification of naming rights as a non-tax revenue source and examples of successful naming rights programs in Brooklyn subway stations, Seattle Street Car, and Oklahoma River Ferries.

Copy of resolution to be sent to Illinois Secretary of Transportation.
