Expresses support for Illinois laws restricting marriage to one man and one woman, citing the state's historical definition and the 1996 amendments to the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act.

Opposes any efforts to extend marriage to two individuals of the same sex through statute or court decision, in response to two pending lawsuits challenging the same-sex marriage prohibition in Cook County Circuit Court.

Urges the General Assembly to adopt House Joint Resolution - Constitutional Amendment 50, which would amend the Illinois Constitution to state "Only a marriage between a man and a woman shall be valid or recognized in Illinois" for placement on the 2014 General Election ballot.
